LIBRARY COMMITTEE BY-LAWS (2015-2016)

Committee Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advise the Head Librarian and Librarians on matters relating to library policies, procedures, and book and non book selection and acquisition.
  • Determine the Library request, needs and complaints of faculty and students and develop an annual plan, based on survey results which identify needs and priorities.
  • To review annually the status of the library, the statistics on the numbers of volumes, circulation, and the expenditures for the library materials. It shall have the power to recommend facilities or expenditures for the improvement of the operation of the library.
  • Submit a want-list of recommended references, books and other library materials to the committee of their respective college/department.
  • To report to the program chair and faculty members any matter concerning the library which should be given due attention.
  • To serve as the liaison officer of the library in the college. All library matters pertaining a program/department shall be responsibility of the said faculty committee member. Be open for suggestion and recommendation of the faculty members which may be for the development, promotion of more efficient service, or encourage greater use of the library.
  • Initiates and/or coordinates programs and activities which provide for professional growth and development including national book week celebration.
